Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

Before I get into the overview of this week's featured articles, I'd like to share with you a new project that we've embarked upon at InnerSelf. We have created audio and video of several articles (some are new articles, others are popular 'oldies')..Please let us know if you like this new feature and would like us to continue by: 1) clicking 'Like' on the YouTube videos and 2) subscribing to InnerSelfcom's YouTube channel

The articles which have audio and a video have the links at the top of the articles and I have also indicated below, next to each author name, if they have an audio and video version of their article. The audios and videos can also be found at https://anchor.fm/innerselfcom (audio) and  on InnerSelfcom's YouTube channel. Please "vote" to let us know if you enjoy this new feature by subscribing to our YouTube channel and clicking 'Like' on the individual videos that you enjoy. We hope you enjoy all of them. Also please send us feedback and suggestions, via our online form (under the This and That menu on every InnerSelf.com page.

This week, our focus is "perspective" or how we see ourselves, the people around us, our surroundings, and our reality. As shown in the picture above, something that appears huge, to a ladybug, can be tiny for a two-legged human, or even a four-legged animal. (FYI: A ladybug has 6 legs. Yes, I looked it up.) Shifting our perspective can make a huge difference in how we see life's experiences.

With so much going on in the health, political, planetary, grassroots and personal arenas, there's plenty of fear and misinformation to go around. But changing our perspective can make all the difference. And the planets are also supportive of this shift. To quote Pam Younghans in this week's "Astrological Journal", speaking about the start of the month of Aquarius on Tuesday: "A subtle shift of energies, encouraging us to embrace new potentials and to open our minds to alternate perspectives."

We start into the featured articles this week with "Four Steps to Release Ourselves from Living in Fear", written by Lawrence Doochin, author of The Book of Fear.  We follow up with Jude Bijou and "How To Step Back and Maintain a Larger Perspective".

We then share an updated article from 2013 by InnerSelf co-publisher, Robert Jennings: "A Made-Up Controversy - "Us" Against "Them"  Again it's a question of perspective... seeing that we are all in this together, rather than "us" against "them", even if we don't agree with the methods or opinions of "others". It's time to look for common ground and find solutions that are for the highest good.

In order to see things differently, we must see from the heart, as this next article and meditation encourage us to do in "Opening the Portal of Our Heart: Journey with Snake, Puma, Condor, and Hummingbird".

At times, we perceive ourselves as having failed at something, yet looking within and examining our inner selves (yes, that's plural), we may discover that we actually are "right on target". Read "When You Can't Seem to Reach Your Goal: Get Going — Or Let Go?!" for some great insights. You'll see yourself, and "failure", differently after reading this article.

We conclude our featured articles this week with another meditation. This one will help us change our perspective and see life through the eyes of nature in "Connecting to Nature and Discovering Plants that Speak ".

Please scroll down for the featured articles in this new issue of InnerSelf, and also the recap of the articles and videos that were added to the website during the week.

And just to remind you: Please visit InnerSelf's YouTube channel and let us know how you like it by 1) subscribing to the InnerSelfcom channel, and 2) clicking 'Like" on the videos you enjoy. This is your chance to "vote" and let us know if you'd like us to continue this new adventure we have embarked upon. If you have additional comments and suggestions, contact us via our online form accessible from the This and That menu on every page. Oh, and I forgot to mention... The narration on the audios and videos is done by "yours truly".

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, health-full, and loving week.
