Redefining "Normal": Supporting Every Child's Unique Journey
We've been told for a long time to "be the change we want to see in the world", and that "change begins with us", and that "what the world needs now is love". So this week, we look at various ways or methods that can assist us in putting these precepts in practice, and incorporate them into our lives and our world...
Just as the whole world is re-inventing itself with a new "live-in/living" experience, so we as individuals now have the opportunity to reflect and reinvent ourselves... or perhaps not so much re-invent as rediscover our true selves. We start this week's articles by asking "Who Is The Real You?".
This week we reflect on self-care, but with a much wider definition than usually attached to that term. Self-care is usually taken as things you do for yourself specifically...Yet since we are all connected, and are all one, self-care involves taking care of our own Self (with a capital "s") which includes the planet and its inhabitants as a whole.
This week we look at new ways to deal with our present, new ways to respond to the challenges and crises that are now presented to us. We look at both sides of the coin that we've been handed, whether we are dealing with the new reality with the coronavirus, or other challenges of daily life.
During challenging times, and probably mostly during challenging times, we need to remember that "this too shall pass" and that in every problem or crisis, there is something to be learned, another step to be taken on the ladder of life's learning. And perhaps the first lesson is ...
If there is one thing we are learning these days, it is that we are all in this together. Borders between continents and countries, divisions within countries whether by race, religion, political party, sexual preference, etc., all of these are non-existent barriers in the face of energy...
We all have goals in life, even any of us who might say we "go with the flow". Our goal could be simply to be healthy, or to be happy. Now those may seem like non-specific goals, but they encompass so many things that they actually are, of course, major goals. So this week, we bring you...
We all have a choice... a choice of how we live, how we think, how we act, how we feel. Sometimes that choice is an easy one, while at other times it seems like we are battling an inner demon to make the choice we know is for the best. One of these choices involves letting go of fear, and this week...
We live in very polarized and polarizing times. However, it will serve us to remember that day and night are both essential, feminine and masculine complement each other, as well as intuition and mind. When we view any two opposites as enemies, we lose out on a whole half of the energy that is needed for bringing our goals, visions, and dreams to fruition.
In his first inaugural address, Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) said that the “only thing we have to fear is fear itself”: And this is still true today when fear, in its many facets, may be trying to stop us from taking action. So tnis week we bring you articles dealing with fear, courage and awareness.
The term activism is usually applied to political causes, yet, the definition of activism is "the use of direct and noticeable action to achieve a result, usually a political or social one." So basically, activism is the use of direct and noticeable action to achieve a result. If we look at that with a broader perspective, starting a new diet would be a form of activism
This week there will be a lot of talk about love, since it's Valentine's Day. Yet the focus sometimes can be on love expressed through flowers and chocolate. But, as we all know, love is much more than what is depicted in Hallmark cards or movies.
We are now in the month of February... often referred to as the month of Love. Now of course, Love is not restricted to just one month or just one day, so we thought we'd focus on some variances of love... not necessarily just the romantic kind usually linked to Valentine's Day.
This week we bring you articles to assist you, in the words of author Marc Lesser, in "learning to love the “full catastrophe” of this crazy mixed-up world and the struggle of attempting to make sense of it all."
Who are we? Who are you? Who am I? These are referred as "existential" questions. What exactly is an existential question? Looking it up online, I find this definition: "a question concerning the essence of what it means to be alive". So this week, we do look at who we are, and also, what are we going to do about it!
There's turbulence in the weather, and perhaps also turbulence in our "inner weather"... We face challenges whether in the external world, or with personal relationships, or with our health... It seems the turbulence is to be found both on the inside and the outside. And of course...
As per our "resident astrologer", Pam Younghans' "Astrological Journal for the Week", we are heading into a powerful week, what she is calling Tornado Week. While this might sound frightening, let us remember that sunshine always follows a storm, and some storms come with rainbows. So while things may look bleak in the world, light is always present, even when hidden by clouds of discord and disharmony.
It's a new year! I must admit, I'm a bit like a kid at Christmas about New Year's. It's like I've just been given 365 brand new days, brand new pages of a blank book to do with as I choose.
This week we are living through the ending of a year, and the beginning of another. It's the death of 2019 and the birth of 2020. We humans often have a hesitancy to speak of death... It's the one thing we aren't comfortable speaking about.
We are all on a Journey... the journey of life. Along the way we encounter blessings and challenges. We encounter love and lack of love (sometimes portrayed as hatred). Our journeys are all different, yet they are all the same. Our goal is the same...
Some times of year are more stressful than others, and December can be stressful for many reasons. If you live up North, snow and ice storms can wreak havoc. And wherever you live, even in the Southern Hemisphere, you may have projects at work that have to be completed by the end of the year. And of course, the holiday season can be a cause of stress.
I believe that everyone wants to make a difference... So this week we take a look at simple and practical ways that you and I can make an impact in the world.
Stress is a part of life. We might think it has escalated in this "day-and-age", but perhaps each century, each decade, had its own peak stress experiences that were extremely stressful, relative to the circumstances of that time. However, yes, modern life can be stressful... so what do we do about it?
