"On the road again..." Fewer articles this week, as we journey south for the winter.

We have fewer articles this week since we had the visit of two hurricanes in the past week... Hurricane Fiona in Cape Breton, NS at our cottage where we spend the summer and fall, and the other, Hurricane Ian at our home in Florida, which we experienced virtually.

One of the basic questions that we need to ask ourselves is Who am I? or maybe who am I, really. In many cases, we may not be who we show to the world.

We've always had the power to make our own choices, but we were often not aware of that choice and that power.

It's an ongoing process... making choices, choosing a direction, deciding on the next step to take. That's the plus (and sometimes the minus) side of free will. We have choices to make.

At times we may have thought that the mind was one thing and our soul or spirit was separate from it, and that we have no control over any of it. However, we are a "package deal".

We are always in relationship... with ourselves, our mind-body and soul, with the people around us, the animals in our lives, the plants, the earth -- in other words, with anything and everything.

One thing we can be sure about is that, in life, there is always a new path we can take... and perhaps that path is very different than the one we've been on, or that we've even ever considered taking...

One thing we have control over is our attitude. No one can impose that upon us. We choose our attitude, albeit sometimes unconsciously.

The movie The Matrix introduced us to the concept of "red pill" or "blue pill" depicting a choice between two ways of life, two different perspectives, two very different paths. However, the choices presented to us may not include all options.

One thing we humans seem to be very good at is to complicate things. And often, it's with the purpose of simplifying them...

As much as we may at times feel overwhelmed in the face of the forces that we are confronted with, we are not powerless. And our power is reinforced by connecting with others...
