InnerSelf Newsletter: November 1, 2020

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

As we travel on our life's journey, we have many choices... This week's articles encourage us to always seek the higher vision for ourselves and for our world. No matter what is taking place around us, no matter the challenges and apparent lack of stability, no matter the discord and apparent lack of love and respect, we always have the choice of how we act and how we react. We can always choose love, respect, empathy, patience, and trust in the future unfolding before us.

Perhaps this week we will be best served by remembering these words from the poem Desiderata:

"Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender,
Be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others..."

"...in the noisy confusion of life,
Keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be careful. Strive to be happy."

Our world is in turmoil on so many levels. But if we remain calm and keep love in our heart for all human beings, whether we agree with them or not,  then we will reach the other side of this bridge of transition with light and love in our hearts and with a clear vision of what our next steps need to be. Let your "higher self " guide the way to a better today and a better tomorrow.

Perhaps the theme of this week's newsletter can best be summarized by the first and last of our featured articles. The first article, written by Mary Mueller Shutan, is entitled: "The Spiritual Heart and The Cosmic "I": Being of Service to the World". The last of the featured articles, written by Judith Corvin-Blackburn, is entitled: "Becoming A More Idealized Version of Ourselves". And that basically summarizes the "ideal" life experience... living from our spiritual heart and being of service and thus becoming a "better" version of ourselves.

The other featured articles this week are steps along that journey. Barbara Berger reminds readers that "Your Voice Matters – Vote For Decency and Democracy!" and Will T. Wilkinson invites us to "The Noon Club Peace Experiment: Become A Peace Patrol and Be A Vote For Peace "

Ex-NFL player Sean Conley encourages us to "Visualize Success: Positive Films for Positive Results" and I would suggest that this is not just for our personal goals but also for "loftier goals" having to do with our fellow humans and the planet as a whole. Jeanne Ruland and Shantidevi speak to us about "Our Light-filled Ancestors: We Are The True Potential of Our Ancestors" and they remind us that we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, and that we are a continuation of their journey. Just as they had challenges to meet, so do we. Just as they left a legacy, so will we. Always, we have a choice... choose love, choose light, and hold that vision for others as well.

Please scroll down for the featured articles in this new issue of InnerSelf, and also the recap of all the articles that were added to the website during the week.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, health-full, and loving week.

The Spiritual Heart and The Cosmic "I": Being of Service to the World

Written by Mary Mueller Shutan

The Spiritual Heart and The Cosmic "I": Being of Service to the World
When kundalini awakens beyond the heart, our perception deepens and we open to psychic capacities. It is through the third eye that we recognize and move away from the noise and chaos of the world...

Your Voice Matters – Vote For Decency and Democracy!

Written by Barbara Berger

Your Voice Matters – Vote For Decency and Democracy!
Today, in October 2020, the horrific situation in the US is breaking my heart... the divisiveness, the lack of basic respect and common decency, the breakdown of basic democratic principles and institutions... all of which is making almost any kind of civilized political debate impossible... well it just breaks my heart.

The Noon Club Peace Experiment: Become A Peace Patrol and Be A Vote For Peace

Written by Will T. Wilkinson

The Noon Club Peace Experiment: Become A Peace Patrol and Be A Vote For Peace
Our frustration is palatable now, in a hate-filled political environment where misinformation and outright lying has become the norm. Who to vote for, what to do? No wonder ideas like that one seem reasonable to some people. But there’s another option: vote for peace.

Visualize Success: Positive Films for Positive Results

Written by Sean Conley

Visualize Success: Positive Films for Positive Results
We can not be successful if we always focus on what went wrong. Whatever we focus on, whatever we put most of our attention on, grows and thrives. Harping on our mistakes and misfortunes will only produce more of them.

Our Light-filled Ancestors: We Are The True Potential of Our Ancestors

Written by Jeanne Ruland and Shantidevi

Our Light-filled Ancestors: The True Potential of Our Ancestors
Since the ancestors in our lineage have not been honored in our religion for many years and were often confronted with adversities in their era, we have forgotten where we come from, who we are, and what potential lies dormant within our lineage.

Becoming A More Idealized Version of Ourselves

Written by Judith Corvin-Blackburn

Becoming A More Idealized Version of Ourselves
As 5D humans we are unable to tolerate cruelty and harm to any living being. As an example, when talking about current events, I often say in a semi-joking way to my husband and close friends, “People don’t act like that on my planet.” This feels quite literal to me. It is baffling that people here are so cruel to one another.
