VENUS & JUPITER: Venus and Jupiter, known respectively as the Lesser and Greater Benefics, conjoin for their annual rendezvous on Wednesday, March 1. In keeping with the positive perceptions we usually have of these two planets, we expect their conjunction to increase our capacity to express ~ and our desire to experience ~ love, beauty, and creativity. With the alignment occurring in proactive Aries, there can be a sense of having a fresh start in these areas, and it may, indeed, be an opportune time to begin a relationship, take on a new artistic endeavor, or perhaps invest financially.
However, the shadow side of this Venus-Jupiter alignment is assertive self-indulgence and a need for immediate gratification. This can be problematic if, in living for the moment, we do not remain aware of longer-term outcomes. If we overextend, make major purchases on the spur of the moment, or take foolish risks in other ways when Venus and Jupiter unite, by the end of the week, when Venus aligns with Wounded Healer Chiron and is semisquare Saturn, we will be uncomfortably aware of having made a misstep and needing to deal with the consequences.
That being said, when Venus and Jupiter dance together this week, new levels of enjoyment and hope are possible, generosity and love can flow more abundantly, and hearts may feel greater fulfillment.
DAILY ASPECTS: Here are this week's most important planetary aspects, with my brief interpretations of each.
Monday
Mercury sextile Eris, Sun semisquare Eris: We have the courage to move forward on an idealistic vision today, but may experience frustration if we try too hard to control the flow of energy, rather than allowing it to draw us forward.
Tuesday
Mercury semisquare Jupiter: Overextending mentally, over-talking, and over-thinking are all possible with this aspect. Remember to take your time so that you don't miss important details.
Wednesday
Venus conjunct Jupiter: We actively seek pleasure and enjoyment with these two benefic planets aligning in Aries this year.
Mercury semisquare Chiron: Misunderstandings and miscommunications can result in hurt feelings or angry words.
Thursday
Mercury conjunct Saturn: Serious conversations are on the agenda today, and long-term plans may be made. This conjunction falls in the final "anaretic" degree of Aquarius, adding import to any decisions that are made now.
Mercury enters Pisces: The Messenger Planet will be in Pisces from March 2 to 19 this year. During this short transit, thinking processes may be more intuitive than logical. Our imagination can lead us to new transcendent experiences, both in meditation and in creative activities. We may also more easily pick up what others are thinking and feeling, so it is important to take extra time to be quietly on our own, to recover our knowing of our own thoughts and emotions. We might want to use Peggy Black's mantra at such times: "All energy I've taken on, I send it back to its source, blessed and transformed. All energy I've sent out, I call it back to me, blessed and transformed."
Friday
Venus conjunct Chiron, Venus semisquare Saturn: Old relationship wounds may surface with these Venus aspects, especially those that came about when personal needs were not honored or when one person wielded authority over another. There is healing potential here as well, as we acknowledge, accept, and love the part of us that fears trusting again.
Saturday
No major aspects are exact today.
Sunday
Sun semisquare Pluto: Subtle power struggles are possible today, as we resist efforts to manipulate or control.

How you defined yourself in the past may feel too confining, so take advantage of times when you can take healthy risks, which will help you know more clearly who you are now, and what you want and don't want.
