InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

February 27, 2024

The focus for today is:

I can and must always have room, and compassion, for everyone.

Today's inspiration was written by Rabbi Wayne Dosick:

Without fail, our community can and must always have room, and compassion, for everyone.

There is no place in a decent society for selfishness and self-centeredness. And there is no place for shunning responsibility, blaming others, dismissing obligation.

There is, instead, an urgent, critical need for communal obligation, shared responsibility, self-sacrifice, and the common good. We succeed best at being human and humane when we feel part of a family, a community, a group, a clan, a tribe. We share wisdom, learning, experience, energy, strength. We are better for being with each other.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of having compassion for all (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
Our world has become tribal... perhaps more now than ever, and too often, the tribes are "us" against "them". Our tribes are formed from our belief systems, our political party, our race, our gender-preference, our attitudes about abortion, vaccines, religion, politics, sexuality, etc. etc. Yet, underneath all of that we are still all human... no matter what or who we identify with. Let's remember that, and let go of the tons of reasons why we, or the world around us, have chosen to separate from our fellow human beings. Let's find our common ground once again... one people on one planet with a common destiny.

Our focus for today: I can and must always have room, and compassion, for everyone.
