InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

February 26, 2024

The focus for today is:

I am choosing to think more consciously, allowing me
to make new choices that support new actions.

Today's inspiration was written by Ray Arata:

Men (and women) must be willing to “acknowledge their stuff.” In essence, that means we men (and women) get interested in what drives our behavior so we can make changes.

This requires we go beyond our biases and acknowledge our privileges so that we can use them for good. We need to acknowledge that the Man Box — the unofficial playbook of what it means to be a man — exists. (The female equivalent might be named the Woman Box, an unofficial guide to what it means to be a woman.)

When we begin to think more consciously, we can increase our awareness of our own biases and privileges, allowing us to make new choices that support new actions. Only then can we finally be congruent with our words, choices, and actions.

Today's inspiration was adapted from the InnerSelf.com article:

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of being aware of your biases and privileges (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
So many of our attitudes, self-concepts, and beliefs are rooted in our childhood. Those concepts usually do not support our being true to our inner radiance and our inner being. The roles (and rules) we were assigned have nothing to do with who we really are. It's time to drop the pretense of our assigned expectations, and live from our heart.

Our focus for today: I am choosing to think more consciously, allowing me to make new choices that support new actions.
