InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

October 30, 2023

The focus for today is:

Mindfulness helps me stay present and alert in every moment.

Today's inspiration was written by Ora Nadrich:

We are, as philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said, “Spiritual beings having a human experience.” It’s complicated.

Being human challenges us daily to show up for life, or at least, wanting to show up for life. Many people don’t even want to do that because life is too hard, painful, and even unbearable. It’s just too much all the time. So, we escape the moments. We don’t want them. We want them to go away.

We must not be so arrogant to think we can stay present and alert in every moment. We can’t. Sometimes we can, if we really make a concerted effort to be present, but for the most part it’s challenging. Mindfulness helps us, and we need it.

Today's inspiration was adapted from the article:
Don’t Be Afraid to Look More Deeply into Yourself
     Written by Ora Nadrich.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of, wishing you a day of making an effort to be mindful and present (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
We get distracted, pulled this way or that, and we lose focus of who we are and what we are here to do. Yet, it's so simple. We are here to "be" love and "do" love. It's not always easy. But as we become mindful of our actions, thoughts, words, it becomes easier and easier.

Our focus for today: Mindfulness helps me stay present and alert in every moment.
