InnerSelf Newsletter: February 12th, 2017

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

This week we take a look at the implications of cause and effect in our life. Once we personally acknowledge that every action or situation has a source or cause, then we become empowered to change our current situation. While we can't change the actions of our past, we surely can change the ones of today and tomorrow.

We are not victims, we are not powerless. Every action we take has an "equal reaction". So if you kick someone when they're down, you can expect to get back a "same or equal" reaction. This is why "Understanding the Power of Healing Our Karma"  is so important. It's also why we need to answer the question: "How Did My Inner Critic Get Here and What Purpose Does It Serve?

A lot of our problems both personally, nationally, and planetarily, deal with "The Myth of the Spiritual and Material Divide".  When we separate our life into two parts, the "business" persona and the "home" persona, we are buying into "The Myth of the Spiritual and Material Divide". It also means that we probably also have bought into "The Illusion Factory: Money Buys Happiness".

Sarah Varcas' article sheds light on the energies of the month in "Then The Change Comes: February's Lunar Eclipse in Leo Brings Clarity". It's time we truly understand that "Life Is A Game, And We're All On The Same Team". There is no "us versus them". We are all on the same planet. We all breathe the same air, and we all walk under the same sky.

So "How Do We Remember and Why Do We Forget" our common ground? It doesn't mean that we go against our principles, but rather that we expand our sense of "we-ness". We are all affected by what happens to our neighbor, whether that neighbor is 10 feet away or 10,000 miles away.

I wish you clarity and strength this week... clarity in discovering your path and strength in living your truth through your heart. To attain our vision of a peaceful and balanced world, we need to "be the change we want to see in the world". It is not by joining the darkness that we can increase the light. We need to stay true to our highest self and stay firm in our commitment to a better world for all -- and take appropriate action.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

Life Is A Game, But We're All On The Same Team

I know competition can provide motivation to try to be better in a particular field or skill. But I think we've taken this win at all costs attitude way too far. Competing against yourself in order to improve yourself is fine, but feeling like you've always got to compete...

The Myth of the Spiritual and Material Divide

The Myth of the Spiritual and Material Divide

While traveling on my world tours and meeting people of all walks of life I have observed a common idea that causes people so much distress. This idea says that the spiritual and the material are two separate things.

The Illusion Factory: Money Buys Happiness

The Illusion Factory: Money Buys Happiness

We live in a world of illusion, and these illusions keep us from our happiness — especially around money. Money drives our world. We organize our whole lives around it: earning it, worrying about it, spending it. Yet many of us are taught next to nothing about it.

How Did My Inner Critic Get Here and What Purpose Does It Serve?

How Did My Inner Critic Get Here and What Purpose Does It Serve?

If the critic is such an unwanted guest, why are so many people plagued by it? Nature rarely, if ever, makes anything that does not serve a purpose. So what is the purpose of the critic, and how did it get there?

How Do We Remember and Why Do We Forget?

How Do We Remember and Why Do We Forget?

Why do so many of us forget where we put our car keys, eyeglasses, or cellphones? How does memory actually work? How and why do we remember some things and forget others? Are they forgotten or just “misplaced”?

Understanding the Power of Healing Our Karma

Understanding the Power of Healing Our Karma

Karma is a buzzword often used to describe the idea of fate or destiny. The term has also been used to imply the pedestrian notion of payback, and for many people that’s about as deep as they give karma any thought.
