InnerSelf Newsletter: June 3rd, 2018

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

This week we look at being... in the flow, in the moment, in stillness, in life. From "In Praise Of Doing Nothing", we read that "Doing nothing – or just being – is as important to human well-being as doing something." Nancy Windheart and Jennifer Woyton share "Dog Wisdom: Live Now, Love Now" while Alan Cohen asks What Is Most Important To You? and writes "I encourage you to stay with what brings you life, and let the details be just that." Joyce Vissell takes a look at Finding Your Perfect Partner: Two Key Ingredients.

From the Astrological Journal, we get "Sometimes it helps to become still, and go within, and see what presents or suggests itself."  Sarah Varcas, in June 2018: The Alchemy of Emotional Expression and Authentic Communication, reminds us that "it can be helpful to turn down the heat on our expectations and demands when the universe has a different timetable to our own! Then we can relax despite the stress of waiting while the cosmic dance allows life to unfold in its own time and step."

So this week, I suggest patience with yourself, with others, and with life itself. As I often remind myself, "everything always works out"... though of course not necessarily in the way we envisioned. But if we are willing to let go and trust the Universe, we end up being surprised and grateful at how wonderfully it does turn out.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

The Big Game: What Is Most Important To You?

I saw a man wearing a t-shirt that declared, "Baseball is life. All else is details." Like this fellow, each of us chooses something that brings us life, and all else becomes details. I encourage you to stay with what brings you life, and let the details be just that.

Finding Your Perfect Partner: Two Key Ingredients

Finding Your Perfect Partner: 2 Key Ingredients
Sharing your life with a loving partner is very rewarding and meaningful. Since we work with couples, we often ask them how they met. Often they will respond that they met online. Typically, they are somewhat embarrassed when they reveal this, thinking that it should have been a more natural and romantic way of meeting. But...

June 2018: The Alchemy of Emotional Expression and Authentic Communication

June 2018 finds us in the ‘waiting room’ of the next eclipse season beginning in July. How we manage the waiting, the growing sense of anticipation or anxiety, the mounting tension… or is it excitement?….depends largely on how happy we are to let things fall into place. Or would we rather force them there, before discovering we’ve jammed yet another square peg into a round hole?!

In Praise Of Doing Nothing

In the 1950s, scholars worried that, thanks to technological innovations, Americans wouldn’t know what to do with all of their leisure time. However, modern life seems to encourage acceleration for the sake of acceleration – to what end?
