InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

January 29, 2024

The focus for today is:

I can handle most any situation just by making a step-by-step plan.

Today's inspiration was written by Jude Bijou:

Almost everyone procrastinates. We usually do it to avoid a task that's unpleasant or daunting. Think taxes, a difficult phone call, or following through on a promise you made in haste or through obligation.

When procrastinating starts to interfere with our quality of life by causing us to feel worried, guilty, lazy, panicky, or irresponsible, then it's time to get on with it. Once you've pinpointed your goal and selected positive thoughts as your companion, you can handle most any situation just by making a step-by-step plan.

Getting out of the quicksand of procrastination will reap numerous benefits, which include improved productivity, enhanced mood, less stress, better relationships, a sense of accomplishment, and feeling more successful in life.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of making a plan and acting upon it (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
Many of us (dare I say all?) are master procrastinators. After all, it makes sense. We delay the things we don't enjoy, that are unpleasant, etc. I've found that looking for the "reward" at the end of the task helps me get it done. Decluttering my office? It feels so good after it's done. Actually, that reward is probably applicable to everything... It feels good to have it done, even if only to have it over with. We take the first step, and then the next, and soon we're there!

Our focus for today: I can handle most any situation just by making a step-by-step plan.
