InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

December 14, 2023

The focus for today is:

I am willing to recognize and acknowledge
the fears beneath my resistance or negative responses.

Today's inspiration was written by Steven Washington:

Without a doubt, it takes courage to face our fears, to be willing to look beneath the surface and examine what we normally avoid. When we do, we shine a light into the darkness and truly see what’s there.

Sometimes people believe that their fears are unique or that no one else could possibly understand exactly why they are afraid. Truthfully, we are all afraid of something. It does not matter who we are. No one gets through this life without traversing the complicated road of fear.

Change alone can incite fear. So, to improve our self-care and to succeed at recovery, we need to examine any resistance or negative responses to recognize and acknowledge the fears beneath them.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of recognizing and acknowledging your fears (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
It is said that there are only two emotions: love and fear. So any time we find ourselves not feeling or expressing Love, we can be sure that fear is the guiding energy in our reactions. Looking within to find what we are afraid of (abandonment is a common fear) can change our whole experience in the moment and in the future.

Our focus for today: I am willing to recognize and acknowledge the fears beneath my resistance or negative responses.
