Marie T. Russell's Daily Inspiration

The focus for today is:   I take my mind off "auto-pilot".

Our mind is a powerful machine. It can take loads of information and draw conclusions, make plans, etc. However, as the saying goes "garbage in, garbage out". So it is essential that we pay attention to what we put into our mind and what thoughts we allow to flourish. Negative thoughts, fearful thoughts, demeaning thoughts are like weeds. Left unattended, they tend to spread and get out of control. Which is why "listening in" to our mental chatter is such a powerful tool. When we hear a thought that is either an untruth, or does not serve us well, we can then eradicate it from our thought "library".

Erasing thoughts or beliefs can be done visually by imagining the use of an eraser. You can also use your imagination to give your brain a "bath" and wash out negative or harmful thoughts. Send the drain water into Mother Earth for composting and cleansing. Then plant new seeds of positive healing thoughts with love and compassion to replace what you have removed.

You can also clean out the brain verbally by saying "Cancel" or "Be gone!" or "Go way!" anytime you recognize a negative or self-harming thought. and then replace it with a positive, healing thought. You can enlist the power of your mind in this by asking it to make you aware when you're having negative thoughts.
