The focus for today is:  I am open to doing things differently.


Many times, parents of young children will express the desire to not raise their children in the same way they were raised. However that behavior, or desire, needs to extend also to how we treat ourselves.

Are we treating ourselves the same way our parents or teachers treated us? Are we making sure we are doing what is best at this time? Are we willing to let go of preconceived notions of how things should be, or need to be, and instead deal with each situation in that moment?

It takes courage to go "with the flow" and not insist on doing things a certain way either because our parents, or authority figures, did or didn't do them that way. Each situation calls for a different action or reaction. Our best attitude is one of being willing to do things differently both in external situations and in our own internal self-talk.
