Marie T. Russell's Daily Inspiration

The focus for today is:  I recognize that fear of the future is just a belief or a thought.

We somehow have gotten ourselves enslaved to fear... we fear losing the ones we love, losing our job, our health, our home, and of course the ultimate fear of losing our life. And fear affects everything we do. Karen Holmes Taylor wrote: "We fear what we love and then give it the power to destroy us."

Fear controls us and directs our steps. We refrain from doing things we consider risky even if our heart yearns for them. We alter our behavior, again based on fear of losing something or someone. Even religion is based on fear: the fear of God and/or the fear of hell and eternal damnation.

Once we realize that fear is just a mental construct, we can be free from it. Fear of the future is just a thought. It may be based on a belief, or past experience, or even just something we heard. However, once we learn to trust ourselves and the Greater Good, we can release the clutch that fear has had on us, and be free to experience life fully, with trust and joy in the present moment.
