InnerSelf.com welcomes your inner Self
There is no doubt that we are living in interesting times. However, when that phrase is used, it’s usually meant with a touch of irony, as in: upheaval, chaos, uncertainty. So here’s a question: If you had to choose an interesting life, would you pick one filled with chaos and confusion?
My answer, personally, is no! Hell no! You see, I'm not a big fan of horror movies or scary movies. For me, truly interesting times are those where I have time to meet with friends, and to do things that are interesting to us: hiking, healing, harmonious living, heartfelt conversations, etc.
Yet, for others who thrive on the high of adrenaline rushes, perhaps they would see chaos and confusion as interesting. And I suppose, objectively-speaking, chaos can be interesting—like watching a starving rat colony or a pack of jackals—it may be fascinating in a detached, scientific way, but is that what brings you bliss and feeds your soul? I can't answer that for you, of course, but for me, what feeds my soul is Love, Joy, Harmony, and a Vision of a better life for me and for others.
This week—as every week—InnerSelf.com brings you articles to support your journey toward love, joy, fresh perspectives, and new possibilities. And to remind us all: we are the ones we have been waiting for. No one is coming to rescue us on a white steed or a white cloud. We must rescue ourselves. And we do that by choosing Love over Fear, Compassion over Anger or Hatred, and by believing and taking part in the creation of a better future.
You're probably familiar with this well-known saying: "We have met the enemy and he is us..." It's time to turn that saying on its head, empower ourselves and say: "We have met the Savior, and It is us." Hold that Vision in your Heart and your Mind, and make a better, healthier, happier, more Loving future not just possible, but real.
