This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of self-compassion (today and every day).
COMMENT BY MARIE: It is said, and unfortunately can be true, that we can be our own worst enemy. Let's learn to treat ourselves as we would the person we love most in the world. This is how we can heal from our childhood hurts and fears... by truly accepting and loving ourselves 100%.

The focus for today is:
The memories of my childhood fears
require my attention and compassion as an adult.
Today's inspiration was written by Mara Branscombe:
The memories of fear seep into our psyches from an early age and stay with us, usually in an unconscious way. These become the catalysts for us to do what we do or not do in life.
Can you remember the first time you felt fear as a child? The fear of being left, the fear of not belonging, the fear of not having the right answer or doing something wrong? The fear of not being liked or accepted?
These inquiries require your attention and your compassion as an adult.
Until these fears are examined and acknowledged, they will continue to rule our existence. Create space in your day to name what is true. Become attuned to how and when you give away your energy to what is not true. Name the fears, doubts, and worries as they arise, no longer give them power.

Journey through the archetypal wisdom of the divine feminine to reclaim your authentic self and to follow your soul’s longing. Embodiment teacher Mara Branscombe takes an intriguing look at the seven feminine archetypes that prevail in the modern psyche—Maiden, Mother, Sage, Huntress, Lover, Mystic, and Queen—and traces their continuing influence throughout different stages of our life, sometimes dormant, sometimes prominent.
As she explores each archetype’s beneficial qualities, its connections to the physical-emotional-mental body, and its shadow aspects, Mara highlights the positive impact these models can have if we embrace them and live them consciously. Step-by-step creative practices, guided visualizations, mind-body rituals, and soulful poetry allow you to embody each archetype, inviting in the light aspects as well as integrating the shadow.
