The focus for today is:
I choose to practice self-parenting and present-moment centering
to transform my mind from ego-based or self-centered thinking.
Today's inspiration was written by Jaime A. Pineda, PhD:
“No-thought” comes from a Zen expression that literally means “the mind without the mind.” This refers to a mind that is calm, balanced, and unoccupied by self-centered thoughts or emotion and therefore open to everything.
Understanding how to control your chaotic mind allows you to build a path to live without fear, obsessive thoughts, and anxiety. This understanding helps guide you back to that Original Mind with which you were born and is your birthright. And in doing so, returns you to a natural state of creative living. Regaining this mind is a return to an amazing journey—the journey you started on but somehow got off track.
When you make this reconnection, the drudgery and negativity of life, controlled by obsessive and self-centered rumination, takes on a fresh perspective. It may even bring forth an expression of spirituality of unlimited potential. All these changes happen if you understand the problem and practice self-parenting and present-moment centering to transform the mind from ego-based or self-centered thinking to one focused on creative living.

Comment from Marie: Our mind, if left unattended, will chatter on and on about the most inane matters but also creating all kinds of incorrect scenarios. "That person didn't say hello so they don't like me." "Those two people in the corner are laughing. They're laughing at me." "My friend is 10 minutes late. She must have had an accidend... or she found something better to do," etc. etc. The mind is the tool of the insecure ego. And even those who appear arrogant or super-confident also have their little monkey mind clamoring at them. The solution to find inner peace? Choose to pay attention to what the mind is saying to you and then corrects its erroneous perceptions and projections. Treat it as a young child that is confused about the world around it and afraid of what awaits it "out in the world". Have faith in the voice of your heart, the space where all is calm and there is an abiding trust in everything working out for the best. Let's clean out our mind of fearful thoughts and negative projections. We will then discover inner peace.
