A New Age of Enlightenment: Spiritual Warriors Motivated By Love

We challenge each of you to step forward during this Aquarian Age to become a beacon of light showing the way for humanity to move forward to a new Age of Enlightenment, a higher octave on the spiral path, bringing forth a higher level of consciousness where reverence for all of life is the status quo. But to get there, we need to recognize that we are the ones we have been waiting for to make the necessary changes.

In this time of upheaval, with old systems fighting to keep a stronghold on established patriarchal forms of hierarchy and separation, we are each being summoned to embrace our spiritual warrior to make a difference in our world. We are called to stand in sacred truth that demands that we protect the work our Ancestors have fought and died for and take it to the next level. This command is from the feminine force of the Great I Am, the feminine force of Creation that requests that we light our inner flame of truth as change agents and spiritual warriors.

Long-held principles of social justice and equality are being threatened at this turning of the ages, and there is a real danger that the hard-won freedoms that we have already secured are in danger of being dismantled. During any momentous change from one paradigm to another, just like in a birth, there exists a cataclysmic moment where possibility exists in a vacuum that can turn the tide one way or another.

The Choice

We have a choice, and the time is now to step up to a higher octave on the spiral path both personally and collectively and bring forth a new paradigm of heart-centered relationships. All our hopes and dreams for our world are being called into question at this precipice of unparalleled change for humanity. We are at risk of losing all that we hold sacred.

It is time for us to reexamine our values, break free of complacency, wake up from our deep sleep, and reinvigorate our passion for truth and justice. It is a time to reawaken our inner warrior. For each of us this may look different, as we each carry an important piece of the whole.

So what does it look like for you? Where are you stuck? What challenges are you facing that you need to call forth your spiritual warrior to overcome? Where do you feel the passion? The fury? Where do you feel the fear? What is your breakdown point to break through? When do you want to crawl into a cave or go into the fetal position because it’s just too hard? Too scary? Too much to do? What do you want to fight for? Who do you want to blame?

There is no more time for hiding, waiting, or withdrawing. Destiny is upon us, and this is our time to rise up!

Feelings that are overwhelming and challenging come to us as a gift to move us to our next level; we too are birthing something in our lives that is challenging us to step up to a new level of lionhearted leadership.

The Call

We are the ones we have been waiting for. It is time to call forth within ourselves our inner authority and take a risk to speak up, perform heroic acts to stop the destruction of our planet’s resources, stop the cruelty toward animals and the mass extinction of species, stop the horrendous persecution of people based on class, gender, religion, ethnicity, and race, and stop the inequitable practices that keep us separate from each other.

The seeds of our future self were planted in our soul in the moment we incarnated in this world. They are waiting for the conditions to be right to sprout and express themselves, just as we are waiting to let go of others’ definitions of us to grow into who we are.

These seeds hold the potential of who we truly are, just like the acorn that holds all of the potential of the oak tree within its shell, waiting for the right conditions to germinate and live out its original blueprint. This means letting go of all of the old programs and activating our own unique code, our authentic self that spills forth with our gifts. Within each cell of our being is stored the seed of knowledge of our true origins.

I recently came across a poem that informed my teenage years: “Let America Be America Again,” by Langston Hughes. It was reprinted in Sun magazine, a monthly American magazine publishing essays, interviews, short stories, poems, and photography in the Dog-Eared Page section. Seeing it made me smile, as this poem had captured my passion during my own coming-of-age and I’d recited it in my speech club in high school. It expressed the outrage that we were feeling about the injustices our country (and world) were experiencing. This was a time when our country was going through tremendous upheaval and change with the Vietnam War, the equal rights movement, the feminist movement, and educational reform.

The Other

This poem, written in 1935, is no longer just about America but about our world today. In Hughes’s poem the privileges and rights that were part of the American dream never existed as a possibility for people who were considered undeserving by society’s norms—including the poor, disenfranchised, racially segregated, immigrants, gays, and others alienated by society’s judgment as unworthy, as “other.”

The fact that the American dream never existed for the “other” is a prime example of inequality and injustice. All over the world, the “others” are marginalized, dehumanized, and often victims of genocide. The “other” is not just people; it is animals and the environment.

It is time for us to take sacred action to redeem our values, to bring about a more socially conscious world. The hoop of life, the spiral path, is challenging us to move higher, to come into a new, sustainable relationship with each other and with nature.

The Dream

This poem for me reawakens a deep desire that was ignited in the 1960s and ’70s that I believe exists in each of us: a desire to heal, not just America but the fragmented, alienated world and the separation created by the traumas of the patriarchal system.

It is a call for us to remember all those who dream of a world where we can all thrive, not just survive—where the color of our skin, our gender, our economic status, or country of origin does not determine our worth. I believe this also extends to remembering that even the trees, animals, and environment have a stake in this freedom. This freedom represents an aspect of our deep collective yearning for wholeness and a love and respect for life itself.

In 2018, it is represented by the “Dreamers,” children whose undocumented immigrant parents came to the United States dreaming of a better life for their families, and whose lives may be unalterably changed by deportation back to their countries of origin.

Many parents in many lands make enormous sacrifices to build better lives for their children and grandchildren. As expressed in the song “The Impossible Dream” by Luther Vandross, the deep longing to “right the unrightable wrong” is a longing that exists deep in the soul of each of us. We all want to be respected and valued for who we are. Sometimes it takes a movement to bring that hope to life, to inspire us to take the action needed to bring about a more compassionate world.

The Shift

Bringing about a paradigm shift demands an overhaul or evolutionary upgrade, a new octave within our own psyche, requiring that we move forward to a new level of right relationship with our world. It is a call for action to rise up and transform our lives and our world.

To quote Star Wolf, “Today’s sacred purpose is tomorrow’s ego agenda.” What we accomplished in the ’60s and ’70s is now our ego’s agenda, and it is time to take the next step in our collective souls’ evolution. It is an even higher leap of transformation and there is even more resistance to this change coming from the status quo—and even within our own psyche, as we hold back because we do not know what is coming next.

Yet it is time. We have no choice but to do the work of gathering the medicine of the wolf and the lion as well as all the other archetypal forces that are facilitating and supporting this change within and without, the micro and macro changes of our new birth. The medicine of Lion is the strength and courage to be vulnerable, to face the challenges with an open heart at the same time that we bring forth our fury and the medicine of Wolf, the visionary and teacher who shows us the way to bring forth the new paradigm of the Aquarian Age.

This is where we must carry the torch to step into our future as a spiritual warrior motivated by love—the warrior with the understanding of a higher perspective for humanity.

Make A Difference

1. Keep yourself educated about the issues.

2. Know your representatives and write to them; call them; lobby and protest anything that is not in alignment with love and respect for all of life.

3. Run for state or national office on a platform that is in alignment with nature.

4. Show up and lovingly share your truth in your workplace and with your family, friends, and institutions; share your voice.

5. Do your inner work; keep working on your own shadow projections over and over! Remember, today’s sacred purpose is tomorrow’s ego agenda.

6. Get in the trenches and support our planet doing the nitty-gritty that makes a difference: cleaning up our water, air, and earth, supporting children, feeding the hungry, and ensuring the rights to food, water, housing, and health care for everyone.

7. Contribute to the organizations that protect wildlife and support the oppressed and compromised. Support organizations that are in alignment with respect for nature, including humans from every walk of life.

8. Speak up! Share your thoughts, ideas, and passion for the Earth and humanity.

9. Support a revamp of our hierarchal intuitions to demolish the old patriarchal ways that endorse separation from others and ourselves.

10. Live a life that is in relationship with your principles. Be mindful of resources and use them sparingly, express gratitude daily, collaborate, network, create community, acknowledge the sacred in all that you do, choose life-sustaining practices in home and work environments, and be in right relationship with all of the communities of Earth (plant, animal, human, and cosmos).

11. Continue to stay awake and do your part even if you are scared. Courage is being afraid and moving forward anyway because it is the right thing to do!

12. Live in the awareness of the interdependence of all beings, and practice equitable and sustainable ways of being.

The Challenge: Reclaim Your Self

We challenge each of you to remember what brought you passion and purpose as you traveled along your life path; at what point did you give up your dream? When did you become hardened or helpless? A tyrant or a victim? As we examine and reflect on our life path, we find the answers that give us a clue to who we really are and what we are called to do here, and now that can make a difference at this turning of the ages.

In doing our own personal work, we reclaim lost parts of our souls, those that were beaten down by others who felt we were too much, too optimistic, too self-righteous, too big. Our essential natures were diminished and we lost faith in our own inner knowledge, but the truth of what our contribution to the world was meant to be has not been extinguished.

Activate Your Sacred Contract

We are all on a hero’s journey here on Earth, and it is our time to activate the sacred contract we came here to fulfill to bring about a new age. It is time to take up the mantle and recognize that the healing of our Earth is up to us! As we heal and support the world’s healing, we step into our sacred purpose as artists of our own fate.

As we heal, we remember our lost soul parts and rekindle the seeds in our hearts, and we grow again into our sacred purpose. As we remember, our sacred warrior finds the passion and fury and determination to make a difference.

We summon our courage and step up as heroes on a journey to save ourselves and the world. This begins with our own healing. Taking the first steps toward healing might be scary, but this is where trust comes in. When we can trust, we can heal, and with healing, we begin to trust even more.

We would like to close with an underscoring of this message of how important it is to trust and to surrender, for when we do so, we tacitly acknowledge that the universe has our back. With this trust comes a shift in perception: Our sacred masculine holds the container for our sacred feminine, and we move in the direction of enlightened leadership to birth a new spiritual octave of higher evolution for humanity and for our wonderful planet Earth.
