The Healing Power of Energy and Prayer

by Alexandra Leclere.

Prayer is a positive transfer of energy and an invitation for spirit guides to help out, and everyone needs energy to be able to function; the more energy transferred, the better.

Many people ask whether prayer really makes a difference in difficult situations, and from my experience I can tell them that yes, it absolutely does! The only reason we doubt that prayer makes a difference is because we are expecting a specific result for our prayer investment within a specific time frame, and when things don’t turn out as we want, we believe that our prayers are ineffective or worse, aren’t even heard.

Sometimes people believe that their prayers are either too big or too small to be answered.

Is Your Prayer Too Big?

The reality is that there is a much greater wisdom to life that is beyond our ability to understand. No prayer is too big or too small. It could be that passing a test is integral to someone’s future and that extra push of prayer and support of energy can do the trick, or perhaps the timing isn’t quite right for someone to pass that test. A client of mine sat for the bar exam three times before she passed. Each time she had lots of people praying for her.

In another example we might pray for someone to come out of a coma, and when the afflicted individual doesn’t respond, we feel that our prayers are not answered and are perhaps even ignored, especially if the comatose person dies.

What is really going on is that the comatose person and everyone who comes into contact with them in any way, including a person praying, are going through a major learning experience. It’s devastating but necessary for the mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social healing of all those people involved. Even people who randomly read or hear about the situation of the afflicted individual are touched by it to some extent.

Prayers Are Always Heard and Answered

The problem for us is that our definition of a prayer being answered doesn’t always match the greater wisdom of life that we only have access to in bits and pieces. We are invited to not only trust in prayer but also trust that the outcome of prayer, whether it coincides with what we think we want or not, is actually the best for any given situation.

It could be that the hopeful law student takes three tries to pass the bar exam because she has children at home who need her supervision for another few years. For the comatose patient who dies, this could be their final exit point and their condition is giving them and others time to adjust to their transition.

Anything Is Possible with Love and Prayer

I was scheduled for eye surgery. The surgeon needed to empty out the liquid and clean out the inside of my eye. Needless to say I wasn’t too enthusiastic about that. My daughter Tania had invited me to join her and her family for a month’s vacation in France. Three weeks of the vacation was in a house with a pool on the French Riviera. I wasn’t going to miss that trip so I postponed my surgery.

The trip was great! I loved being with my three very young grand- children and Tania and her husband. Every day was like a miracle day filled with much activity, sun, and joy. When I returned home I had to face my eye surgery. I went into have a final examination of my eye prior the surgery. After all the technical photos were taken of my inner eye, I waited for the surgeon to appear to give me my final instructions. I felt like a lamb going to the slaughter.

I chided myself for not keeping up with eye exercises and practices that I was supposed to do prior to the surgery. I had been too busy in France. I fervently prayed for mercy and that my eye could miraculously be healed. My surgeon came in, reviewed the photos, and announced that my condition had improved and that there was no reason for the surgery. Hallelujah!

I’m sure the power of the love that surrounded me when I was vacationing with Tania and her family along with my fervent prayers for mercy had healed my eye.

Lost in a Free Fall

In our pinball machine adventure of life, change is inevitable and can be shocking. It’s fair to say that everyone gets the rug pulled out from under them at some point in their life at least once. Often we are warned about this kind of impending reversal, but usually it comes as anunwelcomesurprise.

I had been leading sweat lodges for a number of years. They grounded me and helped balance my openness to spirit and my physical body.

One day when I was preparing for the sweat lodge ceremony, I stepped out of the shower and the whole room began spinning. I dropped to the floor to try to make the spinning stop. It didn’t. Finally I realized that I wasn’t goingto make it to the sweat lodge ceremony. I asked my husband to go there to let people know that the ceremony was canceled.

Meanwhile I lay as still as possible to mitigate the nausea the spinning caused. Several hours later my husband returned. By that time I couldn’t tolerate my condition anymore. I actually hadn’t expected him to be gone so long and had been praying for his return. My last memory was trying to get to the car.

The next morning I woke up in my own bed. I had a horrendous headache. My older daughter, Tania, was there. She told me that at the emergency room they couldn’t find anything wrong with me besides a slight sinus problem. Nevertheless when I tried to stand up to go to the bathroom I couldn’t walk on my own.

The following day I went to see my doctor. Someone had to help me walk and drive me there. The doctor walked into the examining room and blanched. He thought I was having a stroke and immediately sent me to get another MRI. I did and that MRI didn’t show any signs of a problem either.

It took me several months to be able to walk on my own. During those months my world as I knew it fell apart. In my pinball game I had been whacked into a fast free fall. My marriage, my house, all disappeared. Gone in the months following my bizarre vertigo.

In retrospect I believe that I knew that my life would be turned upside down in the near future. I am psychic, right? But I didn’t want to accept that information. In fact I subconsciously didn’t want to face all that trauma that created the dis-ease that turned into disease, per- haps initially a stroke.

When my husband went to tell the sweat lodge group that I couldn’t make it, my friends in the group decided to hold a prayer vigil for me. I think that their prayers and love reached me andI understood that I had a wonderful support group to get me through these next awful events in my life. I eventually fully recovered.

A Sweat Lodge Prayer Is Answered

Lisa, who was in her late seventies, spoke to me privately before the sweat lodge ceremony was to start. Her doctor had told her that she had heart trouble and would need surgery. Lisa obviously wasn’t thrilled with this news.

The prayer she was bringing into the sweat lodge was “Please let me be healed without surgery.” It seemed like a tall order, but anything is possible. All of us in the sweat lodge prayed. The following week Lisa called me to tell me that she had seen her doctor, and he had said she no longer needed surgery.

“What did you do to get better?” he had demanded. “Nothing,” Lisa had answered sweetly.

As she told me this story she added, “You are my secret weapon.”

Darionne Gets Blasted

Darionne was a client of mine who had come to me a couple of times to help her move forward in her life. This time she came feeling desperate.

Darionne was under the care of a reputable doctor who had done all the necessary tests before coming to the diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer. I said my prayer for her even though there was physical proof of this diagnosis, yet I felt that she didn’t actually have cancer. Darionne shared with me that lots of her friends were praying for her. That was good news.

We began the session. Darionne was lying on a couch, and I was sitting next to her. Usually during a session I talk to my client who responds to me, and we have an interactive verbal meditation experience. Darionne was completely relaxed, and I stretched out my hands in her direction to send energy to her without touching her.

Suddenly I was engulfed in energy passing through me toward Darionne. It was so strong that I couldn’t speak or move. It felt like a massive amount of energy was shooting out from my whole body, not just my hands, sending powerful energy to Darionne.

After what seemed to be a very long time, the energy blast subsided. When I could speak again, I brought Darionne out of her meditation. She sat up obviously feeling very good. I was exhausted.

Sweetly Darionne said, “That was quite different from your other sessions wasn’t it?” All I could do is nod. Darionne left, and I was able to refill myself with energy. I was fine.

At the next visit to her doctor, all the tests showed that she was now cancer free. Darionne had the happy experience of surprising her doctor who couldn’t believe her cancer was completely gone.

He wanted to present her case at a conference but he thought no one would really believe him. I know that prayer and the energy session healed Darionne.
