InnerSelf Newsletter: October 16th, 2016

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

Sometimes we may feel as if we are walking through a dark tunnel not knowing what is ahead. And we wonder when we will finally reach a place, both physically, emotionally, and mentally, where we will feel good about our life. Sometimes the confusion is about the world around us, and at other times our inner being is where we need clarity.

This week we start off by learning how to deal healthily with our anger. And yes, we all have anger, in whichever of its many forms. Jude Bijou presents guidelines on how to deal with our anger constructively in "Anger Begets Destructive Thoughts, Words, and Actions." Then Sarah Varcas focuses on the current planetary energies in "Razor-Sharp Truth and Compassionate Grace" and writes "The second half of October is characterised by dynamic, forthright energy which requires careful handling. As always, it’s our choice how we use it."

Speaking of the results of anger and the choices we have to make, Steve Bhaerman (aka Swami Beyondananda) shares his perspective as a "tie-dyed-in-the-wool Berniecrat" in "How We Can Choose the Greater Good on Election Day". Stephan A. Schwartz reveals the data behind "Red Social Values vs. Blue: Can We Know What Works?" which also sheds light on the importance of the upcoming US election.

Noelle Sterne encourages us to pay attention to the words we use in "How to Create Better Blueprints for Your Present and Future". And last, but not least, Tara-jenelle Walsch helps us in "Getting Comfortable in Your Own Skin". All of these articles will help you walk through the darkness around you and emerge into a lighter and more joyful day.

And of course, we have numerous additional articles covering a variety of topics, from dementia, lying, climate, mind-reading (by apes), happiness, and much much more. Scroll below for the list and links.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

Anger Begets Destructive Thoughts, Words, and Actions

Anger Begets Destructive Thoughts, Words, and Actions

Anger fuels our dark side. We give into the impulse to strike out justifying our mean words and destructive actions by unspoken thoughts such "You hurt me and so I'm going to hurt you back." We escalate, tell ourselves "they deserve it" and erroneously think...

October 2016: Razor-Sharp Truth and Compassionate Grace

The second half of October is characterised by dynamic, forthright energy which requires careful handling. As always, it’s our choice how we use it. If we muster as much conscious awareness as possible we can draw upon this energy to power our intentions...

How We Can Choose the Greater Good on Election Day

Those angry Bernie supporters who are so turned off by Hillary that they plan to vote for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson or even Darn Old Trump may be shooting themselves -- and indeed the entire body politic -- in the head...

Written by Noelle Sterne, Ph.D.

Reframe Your Words and Draw Better Blueprints for Your Future

Our words reveal to everyone what we’re feeling and thinking. Our favorite expressions reveal what we believe, and they shape our experiences. The principle that words have great force is an ancient and powerful one.

Red Social Values vs. Blue: Can We Know What Works?

Written by Stephan A. Schwartz

Red Social Values vs. Blue: Can We Know What Works?

Even the most secluded person cannot fail to have noticed that the United States is riven by two competing worldviews: one politically and culturally conservative and religiously bound, the other socially progressive and largely “spiritual but not religious.”

Written by Tara-jenelle Walsch

Getting Comfortable in Your Own Skin

The best way to move into authenticity with ease is to roll up your sleeves and get comfortable in your own skin. No one even has to be around for this to start, it’s just about you being comfortable with yourself.
