InnerSelf Newsletter: February 14th, 2016

February 14th, 2016

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self.

Ah! Valentine's Day. And as Sarah Love writes in It Is The Month of L-O-V-E! I Love The Crap Out Of You! you're either a fan of Valentine's Day or you're just NOT! (Neither option is right or wrong, it just is.) So for this issue, InnerSelf has chosen to focus on the relationship that is the foundation of all others... the relationship with your own self.

Noelle Sterne encourages us to let go of the things (and grudges) that hold us back in If You Want to Reach Your Dream, Forgive a Little. Nora Caron let us know us that Detachment Is Not About Being Cold and Distant  and Marc Allen presents Relationships 101: Keys to Fulfilling Relationships. Once you've done "all of the above", you'll be well on your way to knowing the answer to the following question: How Can You Create An Unshakable Bond Of Closeness?

Now of course, it's not just Valentine's Day, or February, that is about relationships. That's a 365 day a year (366 this year) occurrence. Every breath we take is a relationship with the world, and every thought we think is also a relationship with ourselves and the outside world. Once we realize that EVERYONE is our mirror, EVERYONE is "we", then we are well on the way to creating a better relationship with others as well as with ourselves.

Wishing you a happy relationships week.. at work, at home, at the grocery store, anywhere you go. When you see everyone through the lens of "they're just like me", things start to change. Everyone is a teacher, and everyone is a student... and everyone is seeking to be loved and accepted for who they are. Tag, you're it!

Detachment Is Not About Being Cold and Distant Written by Nora Caron.

Detachment Is Not About Being Cold and DistantGrowing up I had a lot of trouble distancing myself from other people's problems. I had every aspect of the Savior Complex embedded in my cells. It was this natural-born Savior Complex which resulted in a lot of drama in my life.

If You Want to Reach Your Dream, Forgive a Little

Written by Noelle Sterne, Ph.D.

If You Want to Reach Your Dream, Forgive a LittleWhy do you need forgiveness to reach your Dream? When you’re not forgiving, you’re angry and tight. You’re holding onto old hurts and hugging your rightness around you like a parka against the stinging winds of change. Your arms are crossed and your mind is crossing out possibilities. If you think about it...
