Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self.
This week we look at additional ways to empower ourselves. For too long we have had doubts in our own abilities, in our potential, and in our possibilities. Much of that is due to beliefs that we have adopted from the "outside world" and made our own. It's time to pick up our oars and row our own boat.
Perhaps the first thing to acknowledge is that, as author Susan Shumsky states, The Kingdom of Heaven Is Not Out There, It's In Here. Once we accept that as our base of operations, then the next steps may include the following in whichever order feels right for you: Connect with the Magic of Your Intuition, Surrender Your Self-Doubts Completely, Stop Disliking Your Body, and Eliminate Your Subconscious Fear-Based Beliefs.
Since "we are what we eat", perhaps the answer to the following question will help make your path a more ease-full one (as opposed to one that is full of dis-ease: What Is The Most Important Ingredient in Food?

Food is simple. At least, it used to be. Knowing what to eat and whether it was healthy and healing for us was clear. It was instinctual. We did not have to think about food. We just ate it. Today, food has become complicated. As humans normally do with most issues, we overthink them...

The purpose of developing awareness of your intuition is that it helps keep you safe in all ways. When you use your intuition correctly, you will be able to read the unsavory energies of morally bankrupt people’s lies and deceptions. Highly successful people from all over the world have shared over and over how they use their intuition or sixth sense to determine the choices they make.

When circumstances in our lives are too overwhelming, chaotic, frightening, or out of our control, the best response, based on courageous wisdom, is to release the circumstances. One of my students became very disciplined in journaling with her Divine, and one day she said to me, “I’m so surprised. Continually the guidance I am getting is to drink water, take a nap, go for a walk, eat my vegetables, and give myself a big hug! I feel like my Divine is my grandmother!”

This is one of the first strategies I adopted before I started meditating and understood what mindfulness was. I wanted to find a way of controlling my fear-based thoughts and behaviours to minimize my emotional reactions. To this end, I established the following mantras, which I used whenever I felt the slightest hint of irritation or upset.
