Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self.

As we go through our experience of life, we encounter challenges as well as blessings. Does your life seem like it has more of its share of challenges or burdens? An important realization is that if we feel powerless, it is because we have given our power away to others (loved ones, society, employers, friends, the Joneses, etc).

As much as that may sound like bad news, it's actually good news. If we gave our power away, then we can also take it back. We can reclaim our creativity and our vision. Alejandro Jodorowsky writes about Actively Imagining and Creating Your Reality. And perhaps, as Guy Finley indicates, we first need to Shatter The Bonds of False Beliefs.

However none of this is a reason to blame ourselves (or others) for our situation. Barry Vissell shares his personal experience of How We Internalize Blame and Feelings of Unworthiness. We may need to remind ourselves that Well-Being Is More Than Being Well. Sometimes it may take Seeing The Whole Picture and The Infinity of Tiny Gratitudes so that we can move on to a different path and a different experience.

The tools we need are ever present to assist us on our path. Seek and ye shall find. (For additional reading material on various topics, click over to the home page of InnerSelf and you'll discover numerous articles (and videos). Go over to the various menus for articles on a particular topic of interest to you at this moment in your life.)

We also welcome (and invite) any feedback about the new site... what you like, what you don't like, and very importantly, if something isn't working or is missing, etc. To send us your comments, hover over the "This and That" item in every page's top menu, and click on the "Contact Us" button.

Seeing The Whole Picture and The Infinity of Tiny Gratitudes

Learning To See The Whole Picture and The Infinity of Tiny GratitudesWritten by Marney K. Makridakis.

Feeling deep gratitude is wonderfully addictive; the more we do it, the more we want to do it, and so we begin looking even more deeply to reflect on things for which we’re grateful. I first learned about the amazing power of gratitude during a time when my financial situation was quite bleak...

The Miracles Created by Nature (and Goats)

Learning To See The Whole Picture and The Infinity of Tiny GratitudesWritten by Bryan Welch.

The Posey homestead probably wouldn't strike most Americans as a vision of paradise. We lived on dunes dotted with creosote and mesquite bushes, cactus and yucca. Mostly, the land was bare sand. We had seven or eight inches of total precipitation a year...

How We Internalize Blame and Feelings of Unworthiness

How We Internalize Blame and Feelings of UnworthinessWritten by Barry Vissell.

We all carry some degree of self-blame, ways we accuse or condemn ourselves. Often these feelings come from our childhood, where we were blamed for mistakes we made. It’s sad how other people’s blame of us can turn into our blame of ourselves, which then often becomes our secret shame, and can keep us from the happiness we want...

Actively Imagining and Creating Your Reality

Are You Actively Imagining and Creating Your Reality?Written by Alejandro Jodorowsky.

If reality is like a dream, we must act in it without suffering from it, as we do in lucid dreams, knowing that the world is what we think it is. Our thoughts attract their equivalents. The truth is what is useful, not only for us but also for others.

Building Bone Density Safely and Naturally

Study carefully the following list of six false beliefs and the false responsibilities that are never far away from them. Dare to learn everything you can about your own false beliefs and then watch how the weight of false responsibilities falls off of you.
