A Change Is Gonna Come...

(May 30, 2020) As I watch the news on the events in Philadephia and other cities in the USA, my heart aches for what is transpiring, and it aches for what has transpired for centuries... However, I know that what is taking place now is part of the greater change that is taking place... the transformation from the old system to a new system... a letting go of old ways of being and thinking and living... to a new way where we see the oneness in everyone and live in harmony.

Just as the human body goes through a healing crisis when striving to go from illness to health, so the body of humanity is going through a healing crisis. This is the time that we need to have solidarity with other human beings and aim for a resolution of equality, fairness, justice, and love for all. The transition from sickness to health, whether in a human body or in humanity, is not always smooth and gentle.

With that in mind, I share this song with you:

"It’s been a long, a long time coming, but I know, oh-oo-oh, A change gon’ come, oh yes, it will."

“A Change Is Gonna Come” is one of the most-recognizable songs in American music history. For instance, it was inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry in 2007. Rolling Stone also ranked it as high as number 12 on the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. Moreover, it was a track that was heavily associated with the Civil Rights Movement. It was even featured in a pivotal scene of Spike Lee’s 1992 “Malcolm X” film." www.songmeaningsandfacts.com

When The Truth Is So Terrible It Hurts, Take Action

Marie T. Russell, InnerSelf.com
Amidst all the horrors taking place these days, I am inspired by the rays of hope that shine through. Ordinary people standing up for what is right (and against what is wrong). Baseball players, white and black, both teams, walking off the field in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. And today, I came across the… Continue

Women Arise: Be Seen, Be Heard, and Take Action

Marie T. Russell, InnerSelf
I called this article "Women Arise: Be Seen, Be Heard, and Take Action", and while I am referring to the women highlighted in the videos below, I am also speaking of each of us. And not just of those of us in female bodies, but to all the "rising feminine" in all of us, male or female. Continue

The Day Of Reckoning Has Come For The GOP

Robert Jennings, InnerSelf.com
The Republican party is no longer a pro-America political party. It is an illegitimate pseudo-political party full of radicals and reactionaries whose stated goal is to disrupt, destabilize, and cause to self-destruct the legitimate elected government of the United States. Continue

A Song Can Uplift the Heart and Soul

Marie T. Russell, InnerSelf
I have several ways that I use to clear the darkness from my mind when I find it has crept in. One is gardening, or spending time in nature. The other is silence. Another way is reading. And one that lets my spirit soar is music and dancing. Continue

Why Donald Trump Could Be History's Biggest Loser

Robert Jennings, InnerSelf.com
Updated July 2, 20020 - This whole coronavirus pandemic is costing a fortune, maybe 2 or 3 or 4 fortunes, all of unknown size. Oh yeah, and, hundreds of thousands, maybe a million, of people will die prematurely as a direct or indirect result. How much is that worth? It didn't have to be this way. Continue
