Alaria Condiment

This is another idea from Sharon Rhoads (Sea Vegetable cookbook) that goes well with about anything and allows you to keep alaria in your fridge.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbls. sesame oil or your preferred oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups soaked Alaria, chopped bite size
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. miso
  • 1 tsp. sake (optional)

Method

1. Pressure cook alaria 30 minutes, or cut out midribs and cook 15 min.

2. Sauté onion until golden, add alaria pieces and cook another minute.

3. Turn off heat and stir in remaining ingredients.

4. Refrigerate several hours before serving with grains, veggies, fish, chips, crackers, salads, sandwiches, etc.
