"Even in the middle of great despair and crisis
we can discover a place deep within
which is totally beautiful, pure and powerful,
and which is never victimized --
it never has been and never will be."

NEW
ATTITUDES... NEW POSSIBILITIES |
|
Welcome to
the February 8th, 2004 edition of InnerSelf Magazine.
Life can be
like a smooth sailing across calm waters, and at other times, it can be a
tumultuous torrent of events throwing us, it seems, this way and that way
with no visible way out. However, the way out is simply the way in... Going
within and accessing the tools that are constantly available and present in
each and every one of us.
For many, our
innate gifts have been buried under years of upbringing, ridicule and
fears... however, just because we haven't actively been accessing these
gifts, doesn't mean they aren't there.
This week's
issue of InnerSelf first asks you the following question: Are You Afraid of
Being Psychic? and then leads you gently to discover your Allies in the
Spirit World -- some we have heard of such as our Guardian Angels, and
others we may have not yet discovered. You may need an Awareness Tune-Up
before being able to hear and then proceed to Answering the Soul's Call.
The final
destination of the journey is definitely Love and All That Good Stuff. And
the wonder of it is that the destination is also the journey itself -- love
(and all that good stuff) is here for us now when we tune in and make the
choices that our soul desires and that our spirit allies are advising we
take.
We are the
one's who are "at choice" in our lives. We get to choose each and every
single moment what comes next through our actions and re-actions -- and we
always have the liberty to choose another action and to choose to re-act
differently.
Life is a
journey and love is the path which is in harmony with all of Existence -- it
is the path and the goal and the method -- it is the All.
With love
and best wishes from our InnerSelf to yours...

Afraid of Being Psychic?
by Echo Bodine.
Shutting
the door on your psychic abilities because you're afraid of these gifts is
understandable, but I encourage you to learn how to discern and work with
the information. It's psychic development that helps you distinguish between
visions that are truly prophetic and those that are actually the products of
your fears or ego.
Allies in the Spirit World
by Christopher Penczak.
Everybody
on this planet has a spiritual support team. This group is our backup in the
game of life. We come into the world with this team, and build on it through
our spiritual practices and experiences.
Awareness Tune-Up
by John Holland.
There
have been many books written on spiritual unfoldment and developing one's
awareness. I recommend that you research and experiment to find out what
really works for you. The following techniques have worked for me and have
psychically jump-started many of my students. Take your time, have patience,
and enjoy the process.
Answering the Soul's Call
by Lenedra J. Carroll.
Growing
up in an alcoholic home sent me into nature for my solace. I do not believe
we grow only through difficulties, but the soul uses the means necessary to
move us out of stasis. As I have grown in my ability to hear the soul, the
curriculum has become a gentle and joyous one. The soul has this curriculum
always: consciousness, self-knowledge, and growth.
Love & All the Good Stuff
by Wyatt Webb.
Quite
often, I spend time with people who are critical of themselves for having
multiple failed relationships. The truth is, they're missing the point: We
can't fail, because there's no way to do these things wrong. A failed
relationship is a chance to wake up or stay asleep...

DEAR
CHILD
|
|
Dear Child,
Happiness is an
inside job. Struggling happens to all who are on the planet. But those who
thrive in the challenges of life are those who have an inner peace and
happiness -- a connection to a source greater than they are whether they
call it God or the Universe or even nature.
Tap into this
source that is available to all. Allow it in your life.
Realize that you
are not alone. Realize that you are a part of The Divine. Then how can you
not but have inner peace and happiness.
All is well,
Child of God.

The Sands
of Forgiveness...
A story tells that two friends were walking through
the desert.
During some point in the journey, they had an argument
and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped
was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST
FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE."
They kept walking until they found an oasis where they
decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire
and started drowning, but his friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on
a stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend
asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now you write on a
stone, why?"
His friend replied, "When someone hurts us, we should
write it down in sand where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away, but
when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone, where
no wind can ever erase it."
LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE
YOUR BLESSINGS IN STONE!
