There
is a huge tendency, in many of us, to have way too much going on inside our
minds, at the same time. Hundreds of thoughts and decisions about various
things are all vying for our attention. Then there are all those thoughts
regarding what others think about us. There's also memory -- all the things
that have happened to us in the past.
Let's
dare to dream of a Beloved Community where starvation, famine, hunger, and
malnutrition will not be tolerated because the civilized community of
nations won't allow it. We should dare to dream of a world being reborn in
freedom, justice, and peace, a world that nurtures all of its precious
children and protects them with compassion and caring.
Nearing
the lake on that warm September morning, I heard a tiny mewing sound. My
first inclination was to ignore the cries. I've been through enough
lately, I thought; I can hardly take care of myself. Meow! Meow!
The insistent pleas continued..
When
we follow our own path, there is a feeling of determination, strength, and
rightness that goes beyond the everyday ups and downs of life. When going in
that direction, there is a satisfaction that makes life feel worth living.
Even if we have difficulty with it, we still feel it is right for us. 
The
adrenal glands were long regarded as emergency glands -- pouring out their
internal secretions only when a person was confronted by a dangerous
situation and had to resort to "fight or flight." Later, it was shown that
adrenaline is so vital that humans cannot live for 4 seconds if it has been
drained from the blood.
