Becoming A
Spiritual Activist
by Tami Coyne.
In
1970, my mother took my sister, my brothers and me out of school to attend a
peace rally in Pittsburgh. She told us that we should never be afraid to
stand up for what was right. One year later, a few months after I turned 11,
my father and I marched on Washington, DC for peace in Vietnam. He told me
to always question authority...
Caring is a
Natural Reflex
by Margo Adair.
In
the U.S., we are conditioned to believe we are separate and fully
independent from one another. Many of us do not experience ourselves
embedded in a larger community -- instead, we feel we have to fend for
ourselves. When we have problems we take the dualistic point of view and
affix blame. Whether we blame ourselves or others, we have objectified and
separated everything, thwarting our ability to see the full picture.
Do I
Believe in Miracles?
by John Izzo, Ph.D.
I
am asked 'Do you believe in miracles?' and it occurred to me that no one had
asked me that question since my days in ministry. I was taken aback. Did I
believe in people being spontaneously cured of cancer, virgin births,
raising of the dead, parting of seas, burning bushes, and so on? Did I
believe in serendipity, synchronicity, and moments of seeming happenstance
that wind up being instrumental to our path?
Follow the Golden
Rule
by Swami Beyondananda.
But
Seriously, Folks ... what if we practiced what they preached and made the
golden rule the golden ruler? Every year I do my State of the Universe
Address, and every year it's pretty much the same thing. The Universe is
doing fine, thank you, purring in perfection, humming along swimmingly,
ever-changing as always. The state of the Universe ... is sublime. The state
of our world ... is sub-lemon. Despite all of our heavenly aspirations, we
humans seem hell-bent on ... hell.
Living the Choice
by Bud Harris, Ph.D.
'But when you think about what people are actually undergoing in
our civilization, you realize it's a very grim thing to be a modern human
being,' the great mythologist Joseph Campbell said in an interview with
public television commentator Bill Moyers. The other side of this equation
is that we live in challenging and exciting times.

DEAR
CHILD
|
|
Dear Child,
Hold your breath no longer. You have passed the
test of opening up and allowing life to come to you -- not forcing what you
"think" should be.
Open your heart. Open your mind. Open your
emotions to allow all that is good into your life.
Do not be timid. Do not be in fear. Know
that all is truly well as your life continues to unfold.
All is well,
Child of God.

INSPIRATIONAL
MESSAGE

Good
Morning?
Somebody has said there are
only two kinds of people in the world.
There are those who wake up in
the morning and say, "Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake
up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it's morning.
