* THIS ISSUE'S ARTICLES *
Building A Better World
by Ellis Jones, Ross H'nfler,
and Brett Johnson with Brian Klocke.
We look around at the world's problems and wish they would go away, but they
stubbornly persist despite our most heartfelt desires. So we end up living
in a kind of ethical haze. It seems that everything and everyone is for
sale. Nothing remains sacred.
Fear of Insecurity
by Wayne Teasdale.
I
have come to believe that people living on the street have a lot to offer
us: profound insights gleaned as we process our experiences with them.
Although they are not intentionally our teachers and most likely don't
realize the insight into life they offer, they can offer us deep
understandings about life.
Harmony Ethic
by J.T. Garrett, Ed.D.
and Michael Garrett, Ph.D.
The
Harmony Ethic is a system based upon caring for fellow human beings through
the expression
of
deep respect and kindness. To the Cherokee, a
person has just as much choice in creating harmony as he or she does in
creating disharmony and social disruption.

DEAR
CHILD
|
|
Dear Child,
Put your hand out to help others. Help them in the
little ways.
Truly listen to what others are saying. Smile and
look into their eyes.
Let them know that you really are there to help them.
Not focused on your to do list but rather focused on truly being there to
help them.
All is well, Child of God.

INSPIRATIONAL
MESSAGE
|
|
An Old Angel...
An old angel was walking along
the clouds with a young cherub, and every so often the Angel would stop and
excuse himself to go spend a lifetime with this human or that human, and
help them do this or that.
The young cherub said, "A whole
lifetime for just one moment of help strategic to their lives?"
"Yes, of patience I have many,"
the old angel replied.
"There are million...billions of
them humans down there! Why waste your time? What difference could you
possibly make?"
"I can't help them all and I am
not even about to try." The old Angel pointed to another Angel across the
way, "You see him, he tries to help them all, and all he accomplishes is
nothing -- a bunch of half started and unfinished mendings of circumstance."
The old Angel fondly pulled out
his list and pointed to one name on it and said, "See this name here, I made
a difference to this one."
He added, "This one was very
stubborn too and it was the longest 89 years of my angelic life ever spent
trying to help one of them, but I made a difference to that one."
The young cherub just nodded and
smiled because he knew the old Angel was right -- after all, the name he
pointed to was the young cherub's very own name!
