vege children

Hello there, I'm a vegetarian and have chosen to bring my baby up as a vegetarian, during teething he never suffered once. I have spoken to other mothers of vege children and they have all said that their children didn't suffer during teethiing either. My theory is that digesting animal products uses up the bodys natural resources, being a vegetarian puts less strain on the body and food consumed is easier to digest. So instead of the bodys resources being applied to digest meat, the body is able to apply its resources accordingly. Which in the case of a growing child is vitally important. - Rae

Recently, as an adult human, I've chosen to adopt a vegetarian diet, as my body is now on maintenance, rather than growing (including my brain).
As a degreed biologist, however, I know that the human body needs cholesterol,as our organism doesn't produce enough for our daily needs. Following the lead of primate research, I know that some kinds of animal protein (arguably from insects) are needed for balanced health.

Sure, eating organic guarantees a kilo or two of insect and other animal protien, but humans do need a little more.

I do have a nine month old son, and I know that in order to grow up healthy, he'll need to eat some amount of meat to grow his body, and especially his brain, strong and healthy. - Mike
