Show me a child raised by an an involved (responsible) father and I will show 80% of life's success stories. ( The father does not have to be biologically) In many cases it was simply a coach/teacher/preacher etc. of Godly character that was involved with the child weekly (modeling good character).

There is no one who has "made it" without significant involvement of another human being.

All these articles written about how important it is for a dad to be involved are great... except it offers no solution to a single mom where there is NO dad in the picture! You say my kid will fail in life and have problems because his dad is an irresponsible deadbeat? Well who is going to go tell that loser and MAKE him get involved or even give a damn about his son? How about supporting and encouraging us "overtaxed" single moms who have no support from deadbeats and instead are looked down upon because the bio father of our children chose to walk away from his kids. Practical solutions would be more helpful. It is what it is... already. - Katie
