			<title>On my 8th day of a fast</title>
			<link>http://innerself.com/html/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=4269&amp;Itemid=152#pc_147</link>
			<description>Hi Carrie,

I just happened upon this review of your book.
I'm 53 years old and I have been fasting somewhat regularly all of my adult life. My first fast was a water fast of 7 days and it was a terrific experience. After that I have done
Juice fasting according to the book by Dr. Paavo Airola and it has proved to be an easier form of fasting as far as energy level and being able to work - actually, my energy level increases by the 3 day and I have more wakeful time as I sleep less. My typical juice fast is about 23 days.
I am currently just beginning my 8th day of a water fast. I chose a water fast again for the first time in about 34 years as I am currently working in deep spiritual endeavors and my experience with the first fast was the most profound. I have again found this to be the case, I am not making broths and drinks and doing the work of feeding my body - it is cleaning itself and on vacation. My ability to handle stress and hurried situations is far less on a water fast, however my ability to find stillness is considerably better. I will begin adding juice and broth on this 8th day as I would like to continue fasting for some additional time but my body has signaled certain wishes - as bodies do during a fast.

I am glad to see you have written a book on fasting, it is amazing how much inertia there is against fasting in western society. The knee jerk reaction by nurses and doctors regarding fasting is very broad, in my entire life not one has been aware of the benefits and at best they warn that it should only be done under strict supervision &quot;maybe for a couple of days&quot;. I hope you are successful in helping people to find their way to fasting - it is a tremendous way to recalibrate oneself and find the stillness above all the noise.

Fair winds,

			<title>Alternate spelling of Kuzu</title>
			<link>http://innerself.com/html/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=4269&amp;Itemid=152#pc_643</link>
<description>Thank you for letting us know of a possible error.
We have researched the spelling, and there seems to be two alternate ways of spelling Kuzu (kudzu). Check this link
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001EO5KO2/innerselfcom
to see a product page on Amazon with the label of a prominent vendor in the natural foods industry that shows the packaging with the spelling &quot;Kuzu&quot;. A search on Google will also show many sites where it is spelled kuzu. The author of this book uses the kuzu spelling, so we are leaving it as is since both seem to be accepted. - InnerSelf Editor</description>
