Pam Younghans

Weekly Horoscope for
November 2 to 8, 2009

Astrologer Pam Younghans writes this weekly astrological Journal based on planetary influences, and offers perspectives and insights to assist you in making the best use of current energies. This column is not intended as prediction. Your own experience will be more specifically defined by transits to your personal chart.

Highlighted Aspects for This Week

Monday: Uranus quincunx Venus, Full Moon 11:14am PST, Uranus sesquisquare Mars, Neptune trine Venus
Wednesday: Neptune stations Direct 6:53am PST
Thursday: Mercury conjunct Sun
Friday: Saturn semisquare Mercury
Saturday: Pluto semisquare Mercury, Venus enters Scorpio, Saturn semisquare Sun
Sunday: Pluto semisquare Sun, Pluto sextile Venus

November has begun -- the eleventh month of an Eleven year numerologically, setting it apart as being especially significant in our process of consciousness expansion. And twice this month, we will be in the energy of Triple Eleven -- on 11/11/2009 and on 11/29/2009.

I'm not an expert on numerology, but I do know that 11 is a master number, opening doorways for us also to become masters in some way. I also know that astrologically, November stands out among all the months of 2009 as offering perhaps the greatest opportunities for change and growth.

It seems appropriate that these two metaphysical sciences are agreeing on the impact of the next 30 days on the direction of our individual and collective journeys.

A Full Moon begins our week -- and our new month -- with a flourish, quickly establishing November as being a different energy than we experienced in October. And is it a coincidence that this Full Moon occurs in the eleventh degree of Taurus?

The Sabian symbol for that degree reads:

"A woman watering flowers in her garden: Development of the powers of the mind on which ego-consciousness is based."

We are in a powerful time of the year with the Sun in Scorpio. Emotions are heightened and passions are unleashed, human traits mirrored by Nature through recent torrential rains and flooding in many areas of the world.

But this Full Moon is in earthy Taurus, reminding us that we can create an inner haven of peace by experiencing the beauty found in nature, music and other sensory pleasures. And, as the woman in the image uses water to nourish the flowers growing in her garden, we can direct our emotional energy in positive ways to enhance the growth of what provides inspiration and beauty in our own lives.

There is some tension around this Full Moon, shown by a fixed T-square that is formed at the time of the lunation. Visually, this configuration looks like the capital letter "T," with planets positioned in three places, anchoring both ends of the cross and the base of the stem.

This particular T-square involves planets in Taurus, Scorpio and Leo, which are all "fixed" signs. Fixed signs are often resistant to change, even if it is clear that change is for the better. To navigate these energies successfully, we will need to become more flexible, to let go of our stubbornness and our attachment to what is familiar.

We all declare we want our lives to change, that we're ready for our next level of development -- but we tend to forget that change means letting go of what has become our comfort zone. This Full Moon can show us where we continue to dig in our heels, even as a part of us is running ahead and excited about the new.

The planet Mars in Leo anchors the bottom of the T-square. We'll need to be careful not to let our egos get in the way of the changes we want to create. It can be hard to detach from the need to have things done "my way or not at all" -- and yet, this Full Moon may be showing us how that ego need has been interfering with our progress.

Leo can have a hard time sharing the spotlight, or letting others have equal power. Mars in Leo intensifies the ego's need for attention, which means we can more easily become angered if it looks like someone else is taking over or that we're being told to relinquish creative control.

One key to successful navigation of this T-square is to be very self-aware, especially regarding those areas in which we feel intense resistance. If you become aware of that response in yourself, excuse yourself from the situation if possible. Step back or step outside, and breathe in and out several times, slowly and methodically. As you breathe, allow yourself to consider what it would feel like to let go of your end of the power struggle that is underway.

Our lesson here involves altering our usual way of asserting ourselves, thereby opening the door to the change we've been wanting. The answer will vary, of course, depending on our usual way of satisfying the ego. If we are used to giving up our power so that others will like us, we may find it's time to contribute our creative input more actively, stepping outside of the comfort zone of acquiesence. On the other end of the spectrum, if we are used to being centerstage and receiving all the accolades, it may be time to acknowledge the input of others as being valuable.

Most of us are still learning how to share power and to work equally with others. This week, if we pay attention, we may find important clues as to where we are in the learning process, and what changes are needed for us to take the next step.

Neptune's spiritualizing influence is especially strong this week, as he stands still in the heavens in preparation for a change of direction. Neptune forms a soothing trine with Venus during the Full Moon, which should help us smooth out relationship difficulties and tap into the compassion and understanding held by our higher selves.

And, with Neptune's shift on Wednesday, all three of the planets in our Aquarian Triad (Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter) will once again be moving forward. The Triad will be an important influence throughout November and December, opening additional avenues for healing and consciousness expansion.

The Sun and Mercury travel together in Scorpio for much of this week. These two join together to focus our attention on deeper psychological and emotional issues, especially those that have come into our awareness since the Sun entered Scorpio on October 22. We have the courage now to look more honestly at ourselves, and we are no longer content to deal with superficial answers.

Thursday through Sunday of this week, the Sun and Mercury are located at the midpoint between Pluto and Saturn. This means we should be getting more specific clues about how the Pluto-Saturn square energy will be working with us in the coming month.

And on Saturday, Venus will also enter Scorpio. With three planets in this powerful sign throughout next week, we will delve still more deeply into our thinking patterns, our emotional history, and our relationships, searching for the truth of what motivates us and others. What we uncover during this time may be aspects of ourselves that we're not particularly proud of, but the revelations that occur have the ability to transform our lives in significant, positive ways.

Wow! Seems to be the normal response lately
Every word you used to explain the entire reading was 100%of my experiences. I am writing 2 books on relationships. My angle is to really be creative while enlightening & entertaining. So one see's how to take the info, and use it in all area's of there life. I do it in away people who have not yet reached this awareness, will&can really get it and own it. Almost as if they were playing a game or at a comedy club.[ having fun with the words], I interpret things this way.1st the right side /brain takes it in then the left side play's with it... Every time I write on a subject, only moments after, I mean seconds.. there is an article from 1 of the top master's, [ in my face] on the same subject/topic and the same words . {not everyday words though's]..Best wishes to you, Lucky
I would love to receive your writings. You have wonderful energy. Warmly, Stacy smilies/cheesy.gif smilies/cheesy.gif

  Smile, it's contagious!!

Be true to yourself, listen to your heart, live your dreams, be happy, create a loving and compassionate world. Live fully.... never regret. Listen to your intuition, there are messages that will guide you to the right path, experiencing life's gifts, ultimate wisdom and empowerment. Take risks...... life is a journey makes it an adventure. Learn from your mistakes, there is always a lesson....Learn it the first time. There is always good that will come from a negative, traumatic experience. Smell the roses everyday. Live in the moment. Connect with nature, realize that it's really the simple things that are so precious. Be content with only yourself, love honor, respect #1. Without material possessions. If you're truly evolved you will be at peace, content in your soul, not needing things or others to fulfill the void. You are real love!!!!!

  5-25-08 @3:20 PM ~ PST Gracias Pam ~
I appreciate this article. First time to this website. I adhere to valid science and I am open to new ways of examining old beliefs. This past week has been an interesting one for me. I had to go back and look at some of my old attitudes and change them in ways that are more harmonious with the ways things, people and events are in my life. My Sun Sing if Scorpio born November 15, 1951. Indeed, this has been a heavy week for me as I have been open to the changes required of me in my soul. I shall return. ~Blessings and Prayers, Peta-de-Aztlan

Greetings Pam,
Hello from Vancouver BC Canada, I am not sure if you are aware that the Buddhists believe they have located the center of the universe. Check out this link. I e-mailed Dr. Rick Strassman author of DMT- The Spirit Molecule and he had not heard of this claim but would be checking it out.I realize this is a tourist site but it is a great stepping off point to google the other info sites. I believe that it is in fact exactly what the monks say it is, and based on hundreds of years of first nations oral tradition that states this area is sacred and a "Fountain of Life", with caves wall paintings etc. Just imagine if you would for a moment. Mckenna's timewave/Mayan calander needs a physical epicenter to reach 0- a third dimension not just a time and date but a location. My theory is that this is ground zero
where time/space
will suspend and the cosmic
energy will go from cyclical to linear forming a consciousness corridor from one end of the universe to the other. The Mayan calander suggests an energy alignment to the center of the galaxy. Here is my guess, its aligning to the center of the universe. If you are at this spot, right time right date,Dec.21 2012, 23:00hours be chanting the most powerful mantra in the Buddhist Tradition the Prajna-Paramita:
Tadyatha Gate Gate Para Gate Para Sam Gate Bodhi Sva Ha! Why? I believe This mantra will vibrate your soul to the frequency required to potentially travel through the corridor. From the phenomenal world (sangsara) to the beyond phenomenal(nirvana). O Wisdom departed departed departed to the other shore disembarked on the other shore Sva-Ha, is the literal translation! Think of Savona BC Canada as the universal cosmic belly button and the consciousness corridor as the cosmic umbilical chord. Pam is it possible for you to do horoscopic readings for Savona bc canada on dec 21 2012 at 23:00 hrs. What do the stars tells us about this event? It would be amazing if you would get back to me with some info. I would truly appreciate it!!! Hope this message finds you well, all the best, George Bailey

I must say that I've been experiencing pretty much everything mentioned in this article, and very intensely so.. The pranic practices mentioned are techniques I already use, and a good thing, too, for the forces of change can certainly be challenging, disruptive, disorienting and scary. Staying grounded and awake can require tremendous acts of volition....

And when it comes to changes where one is departing without knowing the destination....well. I always joke that I don't mind a little uncertainty--just so I know long it will last....!!
