The Sun

meditation

Feel  the atmosphere all around you. Sense how it vibrates. Is it peaceful? Is there some anxiety hanging around also? Discern whatever it is, without judgment.

Feel the sun brightly shining overhead, warming the atmosphere as if it were noon on the most perfect June day imaginable. Feel the earth underneath, green and rich, soaking up those golden rays of light, and reflecting back the radiation commingled with its own healing energies.

Feel the atmosphere all around you again. Notice if it has changed, and how, if it has.

Imagine that the core of the sun is comfortably warm, not hot. It is now in the middle of this room, and you are in the midst of it. How convenient it is to be able to get a tan on all parts of your body without having to turn over!

You are relaxing as if you are lying on a magnificent beach hearing the crash of the waves against the shore, your body melting peacefully into the earth beneath you, totally supported, only the sun's light is coming from all directions.

Your breathing now is deep and easy. It is lovely being in the midst of the sun! Be with that experience for a few moments. Notice what happens.

The sun is a perfect embodiment of love. Feel yourself basking in the glow of being totally loved.

Feel that every part of your physical body is loved.

Feel that every thought of your mind is loved.

Feel that every feeling you have or you have ever had is loved.

Feel that every spiritual dimension of your being is totally, completely loved.

Find yourself becoming increasingly one with the sun. The more that you receive its gracious blessings, the more you have them to give

Feel yourself becoming love, giving off the same golden rays that you have been receiving. Imagine everyone else as being included in the sun as well, a part of what you are.
