The further I
got into Terry Cole-Whittaker’s latest book I began wondering how I
missed the profound wisdom she’s been delivering over the past twenty
years. I picked up "Every Saint Has a Past, Every Sinner a Future,"
because another New Thought writer had mentioned her name. Unlike some
books that pack a powerful punch in the first few chapters, then fizzle
in the end, this book carries you to the mid-point, then propels you
through the final page.
Terry
Cole-Whittaker, author of the number-one bestseller "How to Have More in
a Have Not World," and the often quoted, "What
You Think of Me Is None of My Business," lets readers of the latest
book have a glimpse of her personal spiritual journey. While sharing the
intimate details along her path, she also peppers her prose with helpful
exercises to aid readers in their own personal discoveries of talents
and beneficial traits. These fill-in-the-blank sections, along with
sprinkled "pearls" of wisdom and a bevy of success mantras, give the
reader tools to build a life of spiritual and material riches.
The author
uses the term "upgrading" to put a new spin on the frequently touted
concept of releasing people, material possessions, and ideas that no
longer suit us. She says, "You let go of one thing for another and in
this way you climb from where you are to where you want to be." Getting
to that point is the focus of the entire book, and after reading about
her spiritual journey you’ll be willing to allow her to hand you the
tools so you can chisel your way to the peak of your potential.
Unlike some
books that can be read once from library shelves, this one you’ll want
to buy. Recording your personal entries in the fill-in-the-blank
sections and reviewing them later will be important for your spiritual
journey.
Now that I’ve
finally discovered Terry Cole-Whittaker’s teachings, I think I’ll go hit
the bookstores and ferret out her other gems from previous books that
have eluded me over time.
