Reviewed by: Marie T. Russell Stories about animals are always enjoyable for me to read, and when the animal itself is telling the story, well, then we really get into a whole different world. That's what happens in the reading of The Raven Who Spoke with God. We get carried along on the wings and into the world of a raven named Joshua. We also get to experience his insecurities, his quest for truth, his failings, his fears, his sadness, his hopes, his dreams... almost sounds human doesn't he? And that's the blessing of this book. While we innocently are reading about this interesting raven and his adventures, we find a mirror for our own life adventure, or misadventure in some cases. We get to experience life from the eyes of a raven, and we also get to see humans and their behavior through the eyes of a bird... not always a pleasant sight, but very revealing and heartwarming nevertheless. This book is one of those books that can serve both as a children's book and an adult book (in the same vein as The Little Prince and Jonathan Livingston Seagull). In it we learn about searching for and finding the source within... Joshua, like many of us, has an inner thirst for wisdom. I enjoyed this book and recommend it both for adults and children.
