AND LET THERE BE LOVE

When you were young

and could not speak,

When we were fatigued

and the days seemed so bleak.

When we were not so young

and the world was unaware,

When we needed a smile

and someone to care.

When suddenly we found

we were grown up and away,

When we discovered we depend on what we learned yesterday.

When we closed our eyes

in the quiet of night,

And for an understanding ear

we wished with all our might.

That's when God said

"Let there be love"

And he created Mother.
