Would I Die For You?
by Raymond Schulze
In that quiet eternity afterwards, you and I as one
our souls soared the heavens, a light brighter than
the sun
our bodies were still bathed in the warmth of our
caress
until your innocent question brought me back in such
distress
Would I Die For You?
You, who brought such passion unto this jaded man,
who built a bridge straight to my heart
and crossed that yawning span
who's piercing eyes exposed my soul
and left me so unmasked
the sweet breath that passed your lips brought terror
as you asked
Would I Die For You?
This man, who's life was so dull,
now craves each small heart beat
with you to light my days so bright
and make each moment sweet
Life is now a precious fluid and I savour every drop
and I dread the thought that such a joy should ever,
ever stop
Would I Die For You?
Then I seized an answer, weak, but it would have to
do
Honey, if you want it, I'd dye my hair bright blue,
I'd dye, I'd shave, I'd tease, I'd mousse,
but on one
thing I stand firm
Please never ever ask me if I would perm!
